If you remember. a little while ago I posted some requests for modern style Fandangos de Huelva.
I got a couple of good leads and Dave sent me some good stuff by Rafael Riqueni.
What is it these days with that style?
Nobody seems to do it much, yet it's a great form.
Is it because it's too rigid and doesn't have the same "opportunities" for innovative falsetas as Tangos or Bulerias?
I'll tell you one thing, it's a bloody hard rhythm to get "right", regardless of it being established mainly from Andalucian folk music.
Everything's on the off beat and all the chord changes are in the "wrong" places. LOL!
I think I'm making a bit of progress though, but it's damn hard to do "authentically".
Anybody else focussing on this form?
I'm a bit puzzled as to what is the accepted phrasing of composition for solo guitar pieces.
