Flamenco nails

Hello. Can anyone please tell me how exactly should the nails of a flamenco guitarist be shaped? Right now I'm playing with relative short nails (of course shaped to the right and everything else) that are very good for classical guitar. But playing classical guitar means, along other things, a different angle of attacking the strings, and of course, that tone is essential. I want to know what size and shape are more recommended in flamenco and what are the advantages regarding technique. Thank you.

Probably you can keep them more or less the same. If you are changing your wrist angle you may need to change the ramp angle. Not sure how was your classical technique. At first don't do anything different and you will notice if you have any catching you will need to change your ramp.

I agree with Ricardo. I play both classical and flamenco. I keep my nails short: i and m - about 1-2 mm beyond the fleshy finger tip; a - just slightly longer; and p - 4-5 mm. I ramp i, m, and a [maybe about 60* - rough estimate].

I pay close attention when I play and fine tune the angle according to need especially with classical. I find that no adjustment is needed when I switch to flamenco.

Incidentally, I routinely use acrylic nails.
