Arabic Style Guitar

I found an interesting post on YouTube recently: Arabic taqsim on a fretless acoustic guitar. The guy is tagged "Nupharluteum". It's the grand-daddy of flamenco, but better on oud, of course! Check it out!

It's pretty easy to sound interesting noodling around in open tuning IMHO.
I once had a 12 stringer (steel) on which I'd lose myself for hours messing around with open tunings.
It sounded amazing!

The real difficult thing IMO is to sound interesting on a short-sustain, nylon strung guitar tuned EADGBE!!

cheers,

Ron
