Well Henrik she obviously isn't managing to prevent you because your playing is great. I listened to your uploads for the last couple of years, and it was seriously impressive

Of course for me it's the other way round, because I'm the one playing guitar. But it is pretty addictive, even when you're a beginner, and whereas Dave and I used to sit on the sofa together most of the evening, it's become a quick half hour and even then I'm talking/thinking about flamenco! Yes I am a flamenco junkie. Fortunately Dave loves flamenco too, so he's cool about it.

I don't want to be in school.

Same with work - it really gets in the way of what's important. Sometimes I go to the bathroom for a quick bit of dance practice in the disabled cubicle

There's never enough time to practice. Like you guys say something always comes up.
I spend my whole working day humming various falsetas, that I tell myself, when I get home I'm gonna play this so well.
Then I get home and the friends that I share with wanna hang out, catch up, or they've got guests round and I end up sitting with them to be polite. And I can just hear my guitar saying "come and play me damn you!!!"
I'm off all day today so I'm gonna get a few hours in...... I think.

I have been practicing the last two weeks. I mean when I get a free moment, I start playing and can't stop, like when I was young. Usually, I felt playing gigs and doing after gig juergas was enough practice (5 days a week) and very rarely picked up the guitar at home other than to tune up or change strings and stuff. I think it is because I normally have more students, but since school started some regular guys have disappeard, or gone on vacation or business trips etc. Also my kid is a little older now, going to pre school and stuff, so I don't need to watch him close during the day lately.

Yeah kev, I lament about practice in the time that's left over or made for it, it's finding the energy to play. That's what I lament over, my lifeless will, but when I have the energy....it's great! Though the way I see it, rest is important....

RE: Ribs & practice (in reply to Guest

My biggest fantasy is to work three days a week and practice diligently the rest of the time. I'm often so burned out from work that I don't have the energy to practice, and I really resent it.

I'd seriously like to find a patron of the arts to support me, but I think that went out of style after Tchaikovsky's demise.

But I did hear that the Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation in Sevilla gives scholarships. Have any of you guys applied, or heard anything about their program?
