Trembling hands

I've really started to think about a little thing in my hands: they shake! Well... the fingers mostly. If I put out my hand and stretch my fingers straight, they really begin to shake like mad, sometimes more, sometimes less (..you should have seen them when I went to see PDL play ).
Now even though it does sound a little scary at first, it doesn't limit my life in any way. Sometimes if i play poker with my friends, I might have a hard time holding a single chip between my fingers, same goes for coins. Still, thank god, it does not affect my guitar playing in any way I can notice.
None the less, I decided to check this out and went to see a doctor. So far 3 doctors have claimed I'm completely healthy. Nothing wrong with me. I don't smoke, no coffee, nothing... The docs described the trembling as "healthy trembling" (what ever that means..) and that there is no apparent cause or cure for it.
So now finally to my question: does anyone else experience anything like this? Could it just be that my fingers get tired from playing guitar like some of my friends have suggested? I'm not worried about this at all but i'm interested to hear new views to the matter...

Niklas

just out of curiousity, i stretched my fingers out, and tried to hold
my hand perfectly still, and i cant do it.
It shakes ever so slightly. The more i try to stretch my fingers out,
the more it wants to shake.

So i would assume its pretty normal. I dont think you have to worry unless
you want to be a sharp shooter, and need a totally steady trigger finger.

For guitar playing, i dont think its an issue.

Have you ever seen the movies, Saving Private Ryan? Tom Hanks' character
develops a horrible shaking tick in his right hand. This thread made me
think of him.

Well i guess it is almost impossible to keep one's fingers completely still in the end. In my case, when I've compared other peoples' hands in that position, I see a clear difference between my fingers and theirs. Try having your fingers so that they are not completely stretched out, but still pointing forwards. That's where i really get problems.

But then again, the fact that you have a slight shake in your fingers might indicate that it is related to guitar playing.....

Oh yeah. Great movie. I've never actually thought of that untill now.

If you watch the left hand of a snooker player, you'll see that his ring finger is trembling like crazy (at least very often). A commentator once explained that this is absolutely normal. This happens if your hand is absolutely relaxed. Perhaps this is the same.

I have trembling fingers when I need sugar input or when I had too much coffee.

i would think guitar playing strengthens the hand so that it doesn't shake much...
i tried it and saw that my fingers are not moving at all, but my arm does shake from the elbow a little bit...

haha, I was playing a bulería for a crowd tonight at a house party (very small crowd, but still my first real time playing outside of my family) and in the middle of one of the falsetas I got so nervous my foot started shaking violently and I couldn't stop it! But I made do by switching around a bit with my legs and I pulled it off OK, they seemed to like it anyways! So not as bad as your hand problem but somewhat relevant. Yeah, with practice, anything is possible (almost!), so just keep at it! :)
