duende, guys thx for welcome, I do have to say, that so far it is the most friendly forum I have seen, and it's really not a lot women

...I am not going to complain about it....

aparently, I found this forum and join as I was looking for folks to talk about flamenco... and I wasn't aware that most of you are guitarist, I do love dance, so I did some flamenco classes in a past, but still don't feel confident, so I am waiting till Sep, and I will join La Joaquina classes on Greenwich, can't wait.

Dancers are a valuable resource in a flamenco guitar forum, and we need you more than you know. Don't worry, dancers are welcome, and you probably have a lot to say that could help us in a lot of ways. I don't know how many times we have discussed accompaniment and the guitar; you have special insight that we could really make good use of. Please share with us! We need to talk about all of the aspects of the flamenco! It's also a valuable resource for you.....

Hi Anna,

Good to see more women on the site. I'm in Granada. Just met up with Ailsa which was fun. We went to the Eshavira to see Emilio Maya play as well as drink vodka till the wee hours. Had a great time. I am not a guitarist though have been known to dance on occasion and my partner and I work with loads of flamenco guitarists. I used to live in London and saw loads of good flamenco shows there. Its nice to see so many Londoners on the forum, now I know who to ask about flamenco when I go back

Anyway welcome,

Kate

Hi Kate,

how is the life in Granada, is it always fiesta&siesta?

once I am closing my eyes and trying to remaind Granada, I always see the lovely miradors, and people enjoying the view and playing guitarr

.....and snow on palms in March two years ago

can't wait till I will go there again,
we used to choose Granada, because my boyfriend and other chaps are paraglider and they were flying there - MAD!!!

Hi Hcania and welcome to the foro. Where are you in london?

If you want a ticket for that paco concert in November I have one for the fourth row which I need to sell. (i'm still going, but I will be working there instead of just watching.)

If you or anyone else wants it let me know.

No problem. Enjoy the show on sunday.
The paco job.... I work for production company that produce his concerts in the UK and I'll be there backstage seeing to Pacos every need. I'm very excited!! Every other gig Ive done, Ive been able to watch the whole show too, so I hope this will apply this time.

RE: brand new member (in reply to hcania

Hi Romanza,
To be honest I'm not sure. Usually at these gigs I've worked (depending on the occasion) the artists crew and production team go somewhere after for drinks chatting etc, usually at a public place like pub nearby. If that's the case (and paco is there too) then it may be possible. How many foro members are going at a rough estimate? if its a handful thats great. If its 20 or so then maybe harder.
I guess I'll just have to play it by ear.
If I'm doing general running duties it may be hard to hang with paco alot. However theres a good chance that I may be assigned to be his artist liaison which means I'll be with him 90% of the time. that will give me a chance to chat to him (if I can get my words out) and perhaps arrange something. I've never met him before so I guess he has no reason to do me a favour. but if I am assigned to him I'll make sure he's completely comforatble and gets everything he wants right away. Perhaps if I go above and beyond for him he may do the same.

I'll grab one of you guys numbers nearer the gig so if he is up for a quick meet then we can sort it out.

Hi Manzmann. Not sure how many are going, I think there's about five of us or so, that I know of. Not sure how everyone else feels. Like you I would be afraid i wouldn't know what to say! but if there is an opportunity, it would be cool..
cheers, Romanza
