i have 1 year and half experince in searching about flamenco guitar (guitar hunt) asking about guitars trying them, comparing the price to the qulity to the sound, i advice u also to look at "Valeriano Bernal" and "Rafael Romero" they are in very affordable price and money to sound are will balanced,
i've never spent much time with the brand you mention, but i just bought a jeff sigurdson blanca for 1700 USD (it was technically secondhand but in perfect condition). it's gorgeous, i love it!
I have a '95 HSL F03. My only reference prior to this guitar was the Yamaha flamenco, and a couple of decent classical guitars. The F03 is great (compared to the other guitars I mentioned). It has probably the best projection of any guitar I have played thus far. The body was thinner and lighter, and overall much easier to play compared to my other guitars. It has a bit more sustain than I wanted, but it's a negra. My next purchase will be a blanca.
I too am looking at these guitars. I'm a bit of noob to flamenco, but recently spent an hour trying out all the guitars I could get my hands on in Luthier's music in New York.
I very, very almost bought a Hnos. Sanchis lopez, except it was too expensive by the time I added import tax (I would have been bringing it back to the UK), but anyway it really leapt out at me compared to all the other guitars in the price range (even compared to a more expensive conde). I think it was a 2f speciale negra I played.
Sorry to hijack your thread but if anyone in the UK is selling one second hand let me know! Cheers.
