RE: Eurosong - vote for Bosnia (in reply to Alinho)
I haven't heard the Bonsian song, but the ENGLISH song is absolute CRAP! Not only is it as camp as can be (although I can deal with that), its also faux-patriotic... "Flying the Flag" for what exactly? or maybe they there is another hidden implication to the phrase... I only just thought of that. But yes, I think the writing's on the wall for that one...

When I listen to this song it seems to me that all eurosong composers use the same old song over and over again. Same chords, same melodies, same false melancholy. They rebuilt it slightly and hoppa ! I don't understand that these 13- in- a- dozen songs are taken serious.
Why don't they come up with something authentic for a change ? Bluhh

Whaaat? You obviously haven't heard the UK's entry:
Now thats as authentic as they come (unless you've heard of the Pop group "Steps")

Jeez, are you her manager ? I don't know about the other songs, but I don't see any reason why this song should win. So stop pushing. We're musicians here. You can't stuff us with that kind of middle of the road songs.
Try another forum. Like one for knitting old ladies.

LOL, Koella! I love the way you always say whats on your mind!
GuxDiBux, yes Germany never wins because these contests are all sharades for POLITICAL Back-patting. If your country is politically unpopular for some reason (like the UK), then no-one votes for you. Thats the sad thing- you can have an OK song, and no-one will vote for you just because of the stigma associated with your country. Its really a form of racism or Xenophobia, which is why this contest should be stopped permanently. The original spirit of the contest has been lost, IMO...

Well, Turkey won some years ago. And they are not really popular in the EU - not among politicians and not among the inhabitans.

and Armenia or Georgia? even Kazakhstan is Europe in football... your comment is of the worst taste possible, especially on a flamenco forum...
Huh? Its called the EUROvision song contest! Not the WORLDvision contest! You're being over-sensitive- no anti-Israel sentiment was intended, and I don't see that this has ANYTHING to do with Flamenco.
Deniz, its a specific type of politics, and Turkey is certainly not one of the "most hated" countries in the EU... at least not by the majority of countries. Countries like Britain and Germany are unpopular for certain reasons, and that plays a part in their lack of votes, IMO.
