This is the best question ever asked on flamenco! Watching La Tati and Singla it suddenly came to my mind: I have never seen one single blonde bailaora... I mean, not that the color would count... [PC mode off] haha you know what would stand here [/PC mode off]
AND if i think further, the wives/girlfriends of guitarrists I know, personally or not, are also dark haired, or at least not blonde. Same goes for dance students.
Nothin against black haired, just curious. But i have to admit it would be cool...

My hair is ordinary English brown, and when I dance in a show I usually dye it darker (and adopt a fake tan!). but looking at these pics I'm quite tempted to get the bleach bottle out!
My colour of choice is dark purple, but I have to lose that for shows, because it sort of isn't very flamenco!

LOL, Fake tan, eh? This thread reminds me of the part in the "Francisco Sanchez" DVD where Paco de Lucia says that he "has to shave off his beard before the concert" because it is "not very Flamenco"...

ORIGINAL: ramparts It isn't yet - be a trailblazer!
Yes, perhaps I should be more daring with my appearance. How about a 'goth' siguiriyas? Or a punk bulerias?!Hmmm, I've heard of fusion, but not sure there's an audience for it.
