After all my posts I am particularly glad that it worked for you. Did you get an ok string height after the reshaping?

Sherman, I don't KNOW how tight the fit of the saddle should be but my preferences, based on MY experience - not Bognanovich's or Stenzel's, is an as tight fit that you can get without getting difficulties removing the saddle from the slot, i.e quite similar to Frank Ford. To simplify removing the saddle I ususally make the saddle one mm longer than the slot on each side giving you little more to push when you try to slide the saddle out from the slot. The ends of the saddle bone is nicely rounded so it doesn't look too ugly.

Yes, before I asked what to do, the string height was a little bit to high for my taste, so that it was no problem to remove a few bits.

Hi Per,

Thanks for explaining your approach. I have a classical in which the saddle is somewhat "firmer" to remove than simply lifting it out. It might be useful to make a somewhat looser saddle for this guitar just for comparison purposes. Thanks!

I just finished another saddle. Thanks Per for your comment about the front edge being used for intonation. You will think me crazy, but somehow I had it in my mind that it was the back edge, even after reading in a book about it. So a picture, and your description helped me alot. And I shaped the saddle as you described with a tighter fit into the bridge slot and I believe it has made a difference.
