Anyone really like Hannabach Flamenco strings medium tension - 827 MT

Edit: I changed the title, wasn't meant to be a discus on strings, I just want to give them away to someone who really likes them

Hi Jim,

Hannabach Flamenco Medium Tension have a brighter sound than other strings, especially the basses. The trebles have a distinct sound. On my old guitar they sounded like a Japanese Koto. On my new guitar this is not so apparent. I compare that to the 'Koto' sound of my old Synthesizer (Korg M1). Quite interesting and worth a try.
Durability, settling in, price is on average level.
Tension is lower, compared to other medium tension strings.

My teacher uses them all the time on his 2000 James Frieson blanca.

The basses are ok but last very short. The trebles.... Nope. For flamenco trebles, I prefer La Bella 820B which I find to be a lot more punchy.

are that black trebles? on the la bellas. ive use some black labellas on my Alhambra
high tension.

There is a difference. When you say "high tension", I think of labella 2001, which are not so well balanced. The 820's that Anders refered to don't have tension designation, just different colors. Although things might have changed, but the ones I get don't say "medium tension" or something. The B stands for black trebs. To me the 820's have some nice overtones and things that the 2001's don't have, but it really depends on the guitar.

I used Hannabach before, as long as they lasted, they were very good. I prefer Luthier just bit more. Savarez Corum alliance are great too, but for me they last a day or two only. Again, it could depend on the guitar and the player.

I played Hannabach in past two times when my strings were out. I thought they were to hard for me. But cant remember clearely. They had black trebles.

Are there any difference between sound and tension between La Bella 820 (red) and 820B (Black)

I know Stringsbymail call them med. tension both but are they the same?

Jim, If noone wants them you can send them to me. I´ll use the basses. But better give them away to someone who really wants them.

When I first read this post I was surprised that you liked them. I know you are a Sav. Alianza trebles man

. If I could only chose between the Hannabach fl. trebles and the Sav. Alianza trebles I would go for the Hannabachs. I just cant stand the feel of Alianza trebles

I've never tried hannabachs. I've been using alianza trebles and corum basses. now at the last stingchange i got the wrong sav. package. it had the corum basses but with horrible trebles.. thick as arms, and not clear like alianza. i think they're called savares PR. I'm really eager to take them off my guitar. I'd like to try a set of the hannabachs, but it would be awkward to ask for you to send a set to sweden.

might try the D'Addario J45's after hearing you guys speak well of them.

Ok, but relative to what? Are there 820 "hard pack" or light or something else? Inside I saw the list for other related sets. 850, 850B, 850 Hard tension. But they are different sets. Where as the 2001 series says light, medium, hard, extra hard, etc. I guess my point is when you simply say "820B" you know what you got.

I would say they are "lighter" than the hard tension 2001's or Savarez Blue or whatever. But they feel so different than 2001 mediums. Tighter, brighter, more percussive. Does that make any sense??

The black trebs sound different than red or clear trebs to me. But it could be my imagination. I like black because they are so "jurassic park" flamenco

Yes completely. Thay are stiffer but not with a higher tension. I find its by far the best picado string. Just feels right. Sounds like sh** on some guitars though.

My problem is that I can only get the red ones here in Granada and it makes the guitar look so.... Well ... softcore xxx.
