Tangos de malaga

Hi, they are teaching this at one of the schools this semster, i transcribed all the solo compas type cds stuff (got 1 falseta i like), but besides that theres not that many recent recordings of tangos de Malaga.

if anyone knows of a nice tangos de malaga with some nice falsetas i can transcribe i would apreciate it, just tell me the Album or name of the track il do the rest myself.

btw. i really love the Tangos de Malaga cante, reminds me alot of the Tangos at the end of Tarantos which i also love.

and tangos de triana

I remember having similar problems in finding stuff. You could try googling 'tangos malagueños' as well although this will probably reveal mainly historical recordings. Good luck and post your findings.

so far all the best and recent stuff i found is the stuff on the instructional albums, escuela de flamenco, solo compas.

but i will keep looking

I might have to resort to composing or change a farruca falseta.

camaron has on called "no naquerer de mi" or something, it say Tangos del Titi
but it sound a lot like malaga. its on the cd "arte y majestad"

Also "Ojos de brujo" got one called "ventilador rumba" or something.

it wouldnt suprise me if Fosforito has sung this as well, with Pdl.

Hello Florian,

A very traditional Tango de Malaga or Tango del Piyayo was recorded in 1966 by Juan Serrano. The singer was Miguel Galvez Carrasco (El Niño de Las Cabezas). The recording appears on a compilation CD "Flamenco Festival" BMG/RCA. BTW- Miguel Galvez, now deceased, who was from Las Cabezas de San Juan in the province of Seville is burried in Las Vegas, NV. I remember I went to his funeral with my father in 1980. He used to perform regularly at my fathers tablao back in the sixties, "Bar Sevilla" in El Paso, TX.
