Tomatito's Paseo

I just got Tomatito's new album yesterday. Also, an album by Dead Can Dance--a weird choice for me, but in Hans Zimmer's interview on the Gladiator DVD, it said he was working with Lisa from Dead Can Dance, and that woman has a haunting, beautiful voice. But unfortunately the CD is all synth belly dancing and it sounds too Indian, for me, I was hoping for something like a cool Enya. Anyway, there's $18 down the drain. As far as the Tomatito, the guitar sounds--like a guitar! I had it turned up real loud and to tell you the truth didn;'t appreciate the George Benson very much. Usually I have to listen to CDs a few times to really tell if i like them or not. I did like the child singing at the beginning of the album, that was cool. And when Tomatito's playing with an orchestra, my fiance said it sounded like he was tryng to be like Vicente! Then the last track, with Tomatito playing old school flamenco like he did in the 70's or wahteverr, and some old gitano's just belting it out--I felt I was back in Madrid at Torres Bermeja! Pretty cool! It really hit the spot.

RE: Tomatito's Paseo (in reply to Miguel de Maria

That first tangos "Pa la Pimpi" features his daughter singing. I don't think she is a child though.

The last track "Ahi te quedas" is my favorite on the album featuring the vocals of Luis "El Zambo" and Fernando de la Morena.
