Welcome to my Nailmare
A few months ago I hurt my finger bad, so I had to have a hole put in my strumming hand index fingernail to relieve the pressure. Hurt bad, but I could still play. A few weeks ago my nail just fell off. The whole freakin nail. Out of the game entirely. But a new one is growing in-a little over half way now, so I can see light at the end of the tunnel. I've been practicing a little alzapua, but every once in a while from habit, I'll do a ras with the index and then it's an ouchy. Gives you a perspective on what playing means to you when you can't do it.
when i was a kid i hit the nail of my index finger with a hammer, the whole thing came off a few days later. i still remember how nasty it feels to not have a nail.. ugh
ever since i've had a weak line going down the center of the nail, it grows out that way. it's annoying because it causes the nail to arch down in the middle, so i have to keep it really short and shape it with silk/gluestuff. beh..
