Good one Jim, love the sound of that guitar too...muy flamenco. I started off trying to learn compas with the solo compas series, but found Ron's program worked better for me.
BTW, what did you use to record the video & audio?
Also, I've been attempting to use the same position you used in that video, but find the guitar wants to slip right off my right leg. What's the key to achieving this position?
Jon & Jim, Thanks The amazing thing about Flamenco rhythm is that once you've got a particular pattern...you wonder why you'd never thought about it before! Bulerias timing is particularly complicated though.
A lot of people think that there is a "key" or something, to bulerias and then it will suddenly "snap" and they'll get it.... It's absolutelely not. (I, myself, definitely have not "got" it.... the thing just goes on and on) You've got to enter at basic strumming level and grow from there. Basically there are no short cuts. Flamenco Master is completely basic level stuff. Just trying to show the basic relationship between the rhythm and the visual beats so you can work on it. No more. It's not a backing track or a "loop" or anything or any kind of advanced training program... Just an inroad into understanding the rhythm. As I said in the accompanying blurb in the text... "It saves bashing out bits of paper with numbers written out".
One thing I would say though.. Bulerias has got little to do with melody and fancy scales IMO. And a heck of a lot to do about rhythm... In my experience anyway.

Just a small Sony mic pluged straight into the mic jack on my laptop. Straight recording with no software other than PowerAMP to convert the wav file to mp3.
I've just always played that way. The fella in my photo showed me and that was that . I can't play with the guitar on my knee. Gives me a sore back.
Ron, Flamenco Master has helped me immensely. I recorded a full cassettes worth of bulerias from your programme and play it in the car wherever I go. That may sound sad, but I can now 'feel' an inbuilt pulse in my head when I play now. I owe you a small sherry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
