Thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks to you all for turning up and hanging out here. I haven't had much time to spend with you recently and it's going to be like that 'til Xmas but I wanted to share a thought:

When everything is going tits up I turn to flamenco; it's like a phone call to the soul. Things then get better. I'm not kidding.

There are a couple of important things going down with my life at the moment and flamenco has played a key role in both matters of the heart and life. When I have more news, you'll be the first to hear.

quote:

The Dreamers by Theodosia Garrison

The Gypsies passed her little gate,
She stopped her wheel to see.
A brown faced pair who walked the road,
Free as the wind is free;
And suddenly her tidy room
A prison seemed to be.
She watched the footer Gypsies pass;
She never knew or guessed,
The wistful dream that drew them close,
The longing in each heart,
Some day to know a home like hers,
Wherein their hearts might rest.

And thank you too Simon for hosting this great discussion group.
Life has it's ups and downs and it wouldn't be life if it didn't, but just another TV show.
One thing I like about Cante Jondo is it's straight down the line.
No holds barred.
Like you,I find the sound of Flamenco addresses the issues in my head.
Pursuing Flamenco can certainly make you poorer in pocket, but richer in soul.
Very difficult to explain why, as a foreigner that should be the case.
But that's why so many have taken that path.

And when you can walk on the rice paper without making a sound, Grasshopper......

Hey.... hang on?
Sorry, got me Religions mixed up here!

As Peter Cooke said (as E.L. Wisty)

"Do you know an Arab can live a whole year on just a grain of rice?....That's a Fact!"

Dudley Moore looking completely bored to death...

"Oh for God's sake don't be so stupid, that is the most utter trash I've ever heard."

Peter Cooke, fumbling through his little book of Amazing Facts.....

"Oh, I''m sorry....just got me Mosques mixed up with me Mosquitoes....Sorry about that!"

LOL!

Ron

Thanks El Chino, it's not bad, quite the opposite, but thanks anyway. Keep analysing, practising and producing beautiful music, my friend. There are very few substitutes that last as long as a falseta or two.

Hy Simon,

Getting a compliment from somebody else is as
Pissing in your pants while whearing a dark blue suit
It gives you a warm feeling, but nobody sees it....

By the way..

Thanks for your Hostality

Geen probleem, the Dutch knowledge of other languages and cultures is humbling and a salient lesson for other countries, especially in these troubled times.
