I just got the album a few days ago...
I'm listening to the alegria as i write this and i'm kinda liking it.
Still for some reason the whole CD seems just a little weird in some
way. The music is nice, but i just can't get in to it. You know what I mean?
I also got Miguel Angel Cortés's CD and i'm enjoying it much more because
it's just more easy to listen. Jose Manuel Leon's CD has a million different
new ideas but it seems to lack the thread that holds them all together.
I liked his stuff on "La nueva escuela..." but this, to me, is a little over the top.

Just my oppinion. But hey! Others may like it and and i hope they will!

Niklas

I have only proprely heard the buleria and alegrias but there is something about his tones and the production of the sound that i just love.

the only way i can think of describing it is silky

It more fusion "nuevo-flamenco" with some Ottmar Liebert thrown in

I couldnt disagree with you more on that, my god not in ottmars wettest dreams.

I realise not everyone will like him, expecially those with a preconcived idea of what they expect from a cd.

i am not saying thats you, some people just wont like him.

but I love the alegria, buleria and solea, any guitar album that has 3 pieces that u love is a good album for you.

besides i love having my ears challenged, and tickled

What is his style like? Traditional? Modern? Jazzy? Can you be a bit more descriptive than "silky"? Who would you most compare his work to?

I liked his songs on "The New School Of Flamenco Guitar", but I'm a bit apprehensive about puting down the cash for new CDs.

BTW, Vicente Cortes had a rumba on that CD... anyone know what happened to him? Any solo CD?

Ninos last album was more consistantly good do , in this i love 3 pieces the others havent yet grown on me but those 3 pieces i really like,

this one is alot more subjective you either love it or you dont.
