Paco's fathers advice

"Treat your guitar work like an office job, 9 to 5 job, 8 hours a day, and then have fun and do whatever you want"

8 hrs a day is still too much.

That was for real pros who want to become professional guitar players. And of course it doesn't mean playing 8 hours straight with no breaks ! Even in office you do breaks

Obviously it is not really about exactly 8 hours, no breaks, etc.
It is about the attitude of having discipline and view it as a job where you have to go to work everyday, certain times, but also combined with the fact that afterwards you go home and have fun and forget work. If you watch whole video you understand what the comment was about. Paco had lots of fun too (after his "office job!")

Plus if you are amateur, you can just play 2 or 3 hours a day and that is fine.

Ok. I got it. In reality they ended up practicing less for sure. For example: Virtuoso pianist Lang Lang's schedule when he was a child:
quote:

5:45 am. Get up and practice piano for an hour
7:00 am. Go to school
12:00 pm. Come home for a 15 minute lunch, then practice for 45 minutes
After School: Two hours of piano practice
After Dinner: Two hours of practice, then homework

Anyhow, there are rumors that Lang Lang's hands are insured for $70 million.

I wonder if Paco or other flamenco guitar pros insured their hands? How about our pro guys Mr. Marlow or Grisha?
