I'm not mainly comparing it to what I paid for it (that is just a secondary thought), but to what the exact same used guitars were selling for, couple years ago. And that has definately changed.

And luthier guitars are not selling as often either.

I remember selecting "sold items" on ebay and there were many many sold guitars within a short period of time (luthier and factory). Nowadays the number is much less.

Guys for the US - we got this major contribution that was not part of the price before. Namely the state tax. Same for ebay/reverb and whichever other platform.
It adds to transaction cost. This is not overly recent development but not very old either. I used to buy things on reverb and pay just the shipping.
Seller would obviously pay reverb/ebay fees. But now you get hit with whatever the sales tax in your state is in addition to shipping and the fact that seller doesn't want to reduce the price b/c of the platform fees.
