I get these creaking or crackling sounds when I play certain strings, normally the A, D and G but sometimes with low E. Even if I play quite lightly, fretted, capoed, whatever. It's hard to tell where it's coming from but I think it's in the bridge area. I'm finding it annoying now, and slightly concerned.
I'm thumbing a G 12th fret harmonic here, can you hear the little crackling sound afterwards

maybe the bridge is coming unglued?
Seriously I am not sure what I am listening to, can you play normal for a second then explain when you hear it? Your audio here has a lot of hiss and background noise along with the harmonic G. Like give an example of NO noise, then the notes with noise.

Don't know what I'm supposed to be hearing either.
Forget about the notes, try lightly rapping/tapping the bridge with a fingertip and see if you hear anything then. It could be due to a loose brace. I don't know how to describe the sound but if the braces are sound there shouldn't be anything, it should sound solid. A cracked brace or loose brace will snap or click when the top/bridge is tapped.

Well, as I had quietly hoped, posting it here seems to have exorcised it. It's not crackling or creaking much at all this morning. Although I bet it will come back when the coast is clear. It's been annoying me for a couple of months.
If it does come back I will try to get a better recording of it.

Check the after length of the strings. From the back of the nut to the rollers, make sure all that is neat and not touching string to string or if there is a loose string end hitting the roller slot in the headstock.
If the condition returns, rub it it Tacrolimus gel and take 5 aspirin and call me in the morning.

If I play hard with my thumb I can make all kinds of noises, but we don't hit strings in the same way when we play.
If you're concerned lightly press around the area and see if you can hear or feel any brace movement. Also check if the string moves at the saddle, and of course the integrity of the string.

Oddly, Tacrolimus worked wonderfully for my eczema for five years, then I got a reaction to it, I got red skin, spots, swellings, took ages to go away too. Stopped using it for a year, and tried the Tacro again, same thing. Pimecrolimus didn't help either. Gone back to Mometasone.
