Hello! I am new here, and I could use some help from you all.
I have met someone selling a 1967 Juan Pimentel guitar. It is in great condition - the bridge shows no sign of stress or prior repair, no body cracks, neck/body connection is seamless, and the tuning mechanisms all work as expected. I believe the guitar has a spruce top with mahogany back/sides. I had a chance to play it and really enjoy how it feels and sounds (the most important part).
My issue is that I cannot find anything about Juan Pimentel, his guitars, models, values, etc. There are fragments here and there, but nothing that really helps me better understand his guitars, how they stand out to other luthiers, what to expect from his guitars, and most importantly, a value that is fair for an exchange. I don't want to rip the seller off, and I also don't want to overpay.
I'm posting here because my hours of google searches frequently land me on this forum to read stories from various members about their experiences with either Juan himself or his guitars. Attached are a few pictures I have, but I can take more tomorrow when I go play it a second time.
