Metronome vs Palmas

Which one is more effective ? I've only ever played with the metronome. How difficult should the switch be if I'm very comfortable with metronome ?

Depends on how good your Palmero is?

Do you mean real life palmas? Or audio track?

Why not switch out your metronome for a cajon or palmas loop?

Metronome is better when learning new material, so it is internalized properly. The percussion backing track is good for after you have the material pretty solid and want to tighten up the details, get the swing and dynamics etc.
