Festival de Jerez 2025
Hi,
I am looking for some recommendations on what to do in Jerez this weekend (also for Seville on Monday and Tuesday 3rd, 4th of March).
Any good guitar shops in Jerez? Any chance I could drink a sherry with Diego del Morao :) ? Workshops on guitar playing that provide a guitar?
I am travelling with my wife and 1 year old daughter, so a bit challenging catching the night concerts but so far I have this schedule:
Saturday Pena La buleria 1st of March 15:00 Ramon de Mateo y Enrique Remache,
Nothing in the evening as I could not get any tickets for the 18:30 show which I prefer as I have a very small child
Sunday, Pena flamenca buena gente 15:00 La yunco băile Jose Mijita sala compania 18:30 (got the last tickets)
For Seville, thinking on going to try some Pantoja guitars on Monday or Tuesday. I see there is the workshop of Jesus de Jimenez in Seville, I think Yago Santos plays one of his, Francisco Barba?
Also I will check an early flamenco show in Triana if possible, so looking for recommendations here also
Unfortunately can’t buy now a guitar with me(living in uk, this year at least) but can maybe arrange to buy one as I am planning to come alone during the Seville Féria and then maybe I can book an extra seat on the plane, also gives me some time to gather more cash
My wife is there now. You missed Antonio Rey and Jesus Mendez this week. She returns tomorrow, she picked up a bunch of flamenco records and books for me so I will ask her where is that store.
I know that I’ve missed Antonio Rey, and funnily enough he played in London this weekend :)
As a guitar fan I am really sorry, but I will catch him again. He’s on my bucket list as is Diego del Morao. He posted one incredible video on Facebook.
Just discovered Tabanco el pasaje tonight and just caught one of the shows, it was packed. Seems like there is also a Cádiz carnival going on, as I could barely get to Jerez from Seville.
