wow, great bulerias! where do you always find these new guys Arash? I remember many times you've introduced us "new" talents.
He has so rootsy strumming with pleasant suprises in the compas that I like him. Oole!

I have bought 2 of his albums years ago which arent recorded well. These videos do him much more justice. Rondena was nice at 3:43.

I always thought this was super inventive, D major standard tuning is rare in flamenco. Paco has a Tanguillo. The ending of this Alegrias moves to por medio briefly, it is a really cool idea. Couldn’t find the discussion of this in the archive.

I think the foro is about at it's usual rate of 0.5% discussion of flamenco? In the past sometimes there was a little more, but at best it's always been 95%: what guitar should I buy, technique, strings, listen to this solo guitar etc..

It's always welcome to have you post some cante every now and then. I miss the old days of Norman, Estela, Romerito, Ricardo etc.. having long threads of in depth cante appreciation and discussion.

What would be a suitable topic for you?
It's not exactly like you join in when the flamenco chat does start.

You just grumble and make snide comments about stuff.

You are part of this foro. Why not take it where you want to?

And another cante video with text saying "flamenco!" Isnt a good strategy.

Why not elaborate on those videos, tell us why you like etc etc. Why not try to engage those who don't realise there's life beyond guitar... enlighten them!

I think there can be some things that hit a person so deep that words can fail them. Maybe the videos are intended to speak for themselves, as a gift to the Foro, shared by someone who experiences them profoundly.

That being said, I'd love to hear more...not just anecdotes, which are great, but also as you say, the why's, too. But sometimes the why's just can't be easily expressed. I don't know, I'm happy with the reminders of how it was, it's about all I can draw upon to help me understand. It helps.

I mean, sometimes it's hard to accept that many of us are condemned to being outside looking in. The guitar is the connection. So it's understandable it's going to be the main focus here, it's our way of getting closer. But sometimes being reminded that it's just one element of something larger is important. I think it's all good. I wouldn't change a thing. 👍👍

Of course, I'm probably reading way too much into it. At the end of the day, we're all just a bunch of guitar weenies

Yeah true! I'm enjoying more and more cante as I age but I'm still a guitar weenie. And I do get it.. that yeah the videos may 'speak for themselves'. They do! but I think that's erring on the generous side. The spirit in which they are shared is evident. To me anyway. No hard feelings morante. I like the videos you share.

Are you serious? as a suggestion for a one I'd like to learn? I think I learned this (or variation) 25 years ago. I'm not sure theres an easier thing to play. If this has been on your to do list for a year then you need to pull your finger out and do it. will take you all of 5 mins!

I think you learned this 25 years ago. Sometimes one should play smart, not hard.
