Guitar Negra recommendations

Lately Ive been searching for a guitar that suites me, slightly bigger body, I find the smaller bodies quite uncomfortable to use due to size,

BTW Negra...

in my list I have the following luthiers, but my decision is not concluded yet.

1. Jeronimo Perez
2. Francisco Sanchez
3. Andres Marvi
4. Francisco Barba / Waiting list is too long....

all of these are similar style guitars and if anybody knows about any of these please let me know, Im also open to recommendations.

Jero has a model with a bigger body. I have worked a lot with him and can recommend it.

Condes have the largest plantilla for Madrid based instruments (across the bottom). But then again, they are “overrated”.

What you really need is a Martin D45. With high tension nylons it would sound great.

I've played Jerónimo Perez and Marvi. Jerónimo's guitar was normal sized and surprisingly light and super easy to play. The tone was decent but nothing special.
I own a Marvi negra which is quite a heavy guitar that is comfortable to play (but not super easy), but tone-wise I haven't heard better.

I'd also look at used DeVoe guitars (waiting list is 4 years I believe), they're quite expensive however.

I haven't played or owned any of these guitars. But I can tell you work on your technique and compas. None of these guitars will help you if your playing sucks and sounds lame.

I can highly recommend Jeronimo Perez guitars. They are seriously fantastic sounding and playing instruments. There is currently a brand new 2023 spruce/Indian negra in stock at my store Wood Vibrations Music.

I've found this funny and obviously a true story on the foro.

quote:

MELCHOR DE MARCHENA
Entri hung out with Melchor a lot back in the day and said he was an amazing player, with one of the most puro sounds ever. One time, after they had played in some tablao, a young kid came up to Melchor and wanted to show him his fancy new guitar. The guitar was very expensive, someone had bought it for him. The kid was very proud of it and wanted to know what Melchor thought. Melchor played the guitar a little bit, and said it was excellent. He handed it back to him. "Now buy yourself some hands"

Oh man, some of these stories…Paco telling a guy to try shoving his guitar up his ass if he really wanted to “feel” it, someone else pointing to a guitar sitting against a wall and saying “how’s it sound now?”, now Melchor telling a kid to go buy some hands??? What’s with these guys?? Hahaha.
