G string buzz

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have my first question. I have bought the yamaha CG182, my other guitar is in for a few repairs for a couple of months and I was finding it a bit frustrating trying to play flamenco on my classical. Anyway all seems fine with the yamaha apart from buzz on the 3rd string up to the 7th fret. I have replaced the strings that it came with for savarez 540 HT. Any ideas before I start making it any worse by my inexperienced tinkering. The action seems ok - about 3.1 at the 12th. Cheers

This really is a hands-on thing and you would be best served to have a local luthier take a look at it. If it’s only the G and you’ve changed the string and the problem remains then it’s likely a high fret, probably the eighth. It isn’t a big deal for a guitar tech to do a spot fret level or minor fret dress to remove any high spots and the problem will likely be resolved.
