RE: Paco de Lucia - New Live CD The ... (in reply to Filip)
If I'm not mistaken, at one point in alegrias Paco does a short bit of what is originally Rio de la Miel, and he also does it with a different Rio de la Miel bit in the Burghausen 2004 alegrias...I find this quite amusing.

Yes, a throw back to Ramon Montoya who would put in Am/E phrygian fandango type stuff in his Alegrias in A major, you can hear him do it at 1:14 onward:

No worries, I found it on an old IPad that was not upgraded. I just have to figure out how to move the file.
All right, cool.

I finally listened to the entire disc, and was thinking no solea on here, but then I heard the end of Zyryab. I forgot how much I liked Chonchi singing. That pretty much makes the album.
Was it Montse Cortes (wtitting this from memory without listening again)? Anyway, female singing made my day as well, I always wanted a live album with female cante...my fav concert was with Chonchi, Montse and Duquende in Belgrade. This reminds me btw, I have an audio recording of a Frejus concert with female cante, buried somewhere on a hdd, I'll dig it out when I get home.
I had this tour in my head with Chonchi:
But I realize she was filling in for La Tana, who actually is the one on the record, and it is this exact performance:

Yeah, regarding Chonchi I think it's the same period I was talking about, more or less (late 2006 or 2007 I think). I personally liked her more than La Tana. That Zyryab video is awesome.

I just got the vinyl, having it now in my hands the cover looks insanely good for my taste, I could put it on a wall or something for the decoration :) I love the concept of a "blurry" image or painting like that, something similar to En vivo España and Siroco album bit I like Montreux cover much better. Can't quite explain, but that image really brings certain type of joy to me...
