What technique is this

Does anybody know what this guitarist is doing with this syncopation/percussion at 12 seconds in the video clip.

Thumb up, fingers down, slap twice. The whole thing happens 3x. The count would be
& 12 & 1
& 2 & 3
& 4 & 5, etc

Yes you are correct (had to play along) he pauses after the second slap so it’s p up slap twice pause

Thanks everybody...it makes sense and its workable...what was confusing is the second slap each time has a solid sound like a skin golpe but he obviously is not doing a golpe.
