Thank you Nigel and Tele. I sent them an email stating that I appreciate the fact they are trying to resolve the issue with me but the assessed value of my guitar was ridiculously low. I attached with my reply a copy of the invoice from Camps. In closing I asked them come back with a more realistic and reasonable number.

Update: ALSA still has gotten back to me despite my two emails requesting a more reasonable compensation. I think they just ignored the issue. At this point I do not want to bother myself dealing with them anymore, consider that a learning experience. However, shortly I filed a claim with the travel insurance company, they sent me $300, which is the maximum amount for each lost item.

ALSA as a company sucks and I recommend anyone to avoid it whenever possible. There are other bus companies and train. Of course renting or buying a car would be the best
