I've been dabbling a little in transcribing the solea of José Menese and Manolo Brenes from Rito y Geografia del Cante. Attached here is the first page (there are 2 more pages sketched out waiting to be tapped into the computer). I'm writing this out in Lilypond (with Frescobaldi) - which I'm very new to. Posting here in case anyone finds this useful, or if anyone has any comments on either accuracy, transcription choices or tips for lilypond.

Page two.
The final line of page 2 is causing me issues - I can't work out how to get Lilypond to give me two slur lines for each of the two finger hammer ons. I tried using two "voices" but the "tuplet" command seems to conflict with that. Anyone know a hack for that?

About a year ago I studied Lilypond (and I also was using Frescobaldi). I put together, from what I've found and my own modifications, a suite of definitions relevant to flamenco and useful aliases, in a file you can just include and then use all the commands and shortcuts to be able to write out rasgueados with finger and direction notation, golpes, other things like a more accented strike is double-stemmed arrow, etc.. So you can get stuff to display like what you see in the image below.
I am enclosing my flamenco notation file (the text file) if you are interested. You'd have to rename it as .ly and then include it as e.g. \include "./flamenco_notation.ly" in your lilypond file to use it.
NOTE: The rasgueados above may not be correct - I just dug out an archived file I could find quickly. I remember Ricardo commenting that there was an inconsistency in the way the rasgueados were done for this, and I don't remember if this here is before or after I fixed it. So the image is just for illustrative purposes.

Muchas gracias Kitarist for these posts. I hadn't seen that example in the help files, so was very excited by your 2nd post. But then I completely failed to get their example working on my computer - sounded good in theory, but didn't work in practice. I'll take this one to the lilypond forum and see what that gives.
Just noticed page 1 compas 1 on my second upload developed a bug at some point too, so anyone wanting to use this, use page one from the first upload not the second.

You are using an older version of lilypond; maybe this is why you are having issues. I noticed you are using 2.18[.2] whereas I am using 2.19[.81] which a year ago was the latest stable version and it is the 2.19 version that the example was drawn from (see the link above).

I just haven't had time to work with it for the last year or so. It is on my list though; haven't abandoned it.

Thanks Ricardo for the feedback. Yes why not. I actually try to practice it exactly as you suggest (that missing m is the Achilles heel of my own 6 note arpeggio) but then I opted for 5 on the score for accuracy. I even tried adding the missing m in grey, but couldn't see how to do it on the tab staff, so think I'll just fill it in in black.
Would you agree though that in compases 4 and 5 he's doing some arpegios with fewer than 5 notes? Seems like 4 notes to me.
