Does anyone else on here like him? Very good guitar player (Manouche style), so strong in all departments. I'm going to see his quartet tonight......can't wait, should be a swingin' evening....today is going to drag at work
Hi - I hadn't heard of them but sounds intriguing. 'Gypsy jazz'? They are playing in London on Monday but I think it is sold out. However the venue they are playing at(http://www.quecumbar.co.uk/) has some great events - Gypsy guitar workshops and live music etc, so thanks for bringing it to my attention! I will have to check it out in future. Hope you enjoy the show.
Yeah, Debarre is great. I have his album with Ludovic Beier "Come into my Swing". Its Django reinhardt style jazz, not much to do with Flamenco. If you like Debarre, check out the Rosenberg Trio... its similar stuff, and just as good. Their "Live at the North Sea Jazz Festival" album is worth a listen.
No problem. Just one more thing... theck out the "Bireli Lagrene and Friends" DVD. Again, Gypsy Jazz, and very similar to Debarre and the Rosenberg Trio. A colleague lent it to me recently- good stuff!!!
