RE: Source for wholesale nuts and sa... (in reply to NorCalluthier)
Hello Estevan,
I posted the same query on Frank Ford's frets.net forum and Frank reminded me of Christie Song. She has been running an export/import business for many years, and used to bring wonderful food to our NCAL meetings:
Frank says that he has been getting nut and saddle blanks from her for years, and that the quality and price are both good. Her sources are of course in China.

You can order 50 at a time from Chinese supplier. There's also Indian out fits that'll sell a couple hundred at a time. Of course in CA there's Saga in South San Francisco, the price is higher but the stuff gets to you faster and has the illusion of not coming from China.

Hello Estevan,
I'm happy to buy stuff from China, a long as the quality is good. Their stuff is getting better, rather like the quality of Japanese products after WWII.
By the way, I use Eagle Abrasives---a Japanese company---products almost exclusively these days. Their "Assilex", "Tolex" , and "Buflex" lines cover from 240 grit through 3000 grit, and are simply better than any other that I have ever used. They sell mainly to the auto body repair folks, so that's why you have not heard of them---I believe LMI carries the Buflex line.
