The new Encuentro!!!
Maybe this has been mentioned here before and I know some of these vids have definitely been posted / discussed bit for those who don't know.... Theres a YouTube channel called flamencoguitarsforsale
And I must say its fantastic. All the modern greats are on their doing their bit.
Manuel Valencia Diego del morao Jeronimo maya Antonio Rey David cerruduela And many many more All playing their material solo or with percussion and cante and with great camera angle.
This is a gold mine of videos and material and for me feels like the 'new encuentro' sure there's no tab or discussion or any technical advice but for reasonably competent players it is a great way to learn a new falseta or watch a players technique. There are so many videos there so can't see myself every being short.. Just beware....the channel is really just for demonstrating the various guitars the guys are playing so you may end up a little lighter in the wallet. 😂😂
If you've never come across it check it out now and any thankyou gifts will be gratefully recieved. 🤣
the "new Encuentro" is the series of La Sonanta DVD's. Paco Fernandez, Jose Antonio Rodriguez, Jeronimo Maya, Niño de Pura.... and have you seen the Jose Manuel Leon one?
The encuentro comparison isn't really the point of all this.
Its clearly not that.
I just meant in terms of top class players showing their skills up close and personal on video... For me the last time I was this excited by video material from pros that I could learn from was the Encuentro series.
That was of its time no? DVD and tab? Now it's this time and people want short, sharp HD content available to stream online right? This channel provides it.
Anyway like I say the comparison was a little bit of fun. The point is that the videos are great. So get involved...
Erm.yeah I like YouTube, who's doesn't?? but specifically the 'flamencoguitarsforsale' channel.
I agree there is some great playing there, by guys that are otherwise unknown, like Pedro Javier Gonzalez for one. Transcribing that stuff is doable but for me really time consuming and time is one thing I don't have enough of. Some of the songs played there are common and tabs can be found.

Ah well, there was a fantastic passion there, in my case anyway. I discovered flamenco very early on. It grips you in a way that you can't get away - Paco Pena
For YEARS now I've been seeing these teaser videos uploaded to YouTube by this channel. But still no tapes! When will encuentro release these new series on VHS? Gimmie Tabs, brah.
