Guitar Salon 'student' FC-100 guitar...
Hello,
Any opinion on this guitar from GSI? Besides the ugly/simply label guitar looks nice enough for $899, but they are having a 20% off sale so that is why I am asking if this seems to be a good deal at $719. They have a few sound samples on the web.
About me: I picked up guitar for the first time a year ago and I really enjoy it so far and want to progress. I feel like my current guitar for $200, Antonio Hermosa AH-15, has been a good beginner guitar for the journey but I feel like frankly it does not sound good. It is supposed to have solid spruce top with laminated cypress sides but I have no way of telling. Anyways, poor projection and sound is not too inspiring. The action was 3.7+ mm on the 12th and I sanded the saddle down so it is at 3mm that did help the action. The distance of the strings above soundboard is 11-12 mm at bridge, I heard golpes are a little bit better more comfortable with this number being less.
I was thinking that now might be the time to upgrade to a student quality all solid guitar to take me into the next few years of my journey. Here is a link with 2 play ability videos to hear sound:
I think my only other options in this price range for an all solid wood is a Navarro used (I did see one on ebay for about this range once) or maybe a used Montalvo, used Cordoba F10. These I would have to be patient.
Do I stick with what I got or does it make sense to move to a better quality at this time. Any thoughts?
