John Walsh workshop - September 3rd,...

Hi I know some of you are in the North West of the UK. This will be great.

Flamenco Guitar, Rhythm and Technique with John Walsh

This workshop will look at ways to develop really strong technique and rhythm that can be applied to a range of Palos including Alegrias, Bulerias, Solea and Tangos.

The workshop will be primarily aimed at intermediate players who want to gain more confidence with their playing in a range of styles, but it is open to other players too so please email info@flamencomanchester.com with any questions.

10:30am – 5pm

Those of you have been to John’s previous workshops know how good they are and what an amazing player and teacher he is.

Book early to avoid disappointment.

Hey Erik, I do know Nick, he was my first teacher, great player but not seen him in a while. He actually taught us one of your Tangos Falsettas

Thanks, we were classmates at Rotterdam Conservatory and on top fought huge battles on the chess board (sometimes over 24 hours in a row).

It seems that most players active in that area are called John, makes me wonder were John Fillmore (another classmate of that time) came from :-).

You definetly hit something there, I had to leave Manchester because John is only my 2nd name.

Hi John
I am, but I think it may be well beyond my meagre abilities.
I embarrass myself way too often these days, Nick has the patience of a saint

do you have any examples of what sort of level it will be at? I'm super slow at picking stuff up

cheers

John

I've played in London before but never given any workshops.
Where are you based?

I'm down near Oxford - so Manchester is a bit of a stretch for a day.

Wonder how many of us there are in the south of England and if we could form some sort of group lesson buying consortium thingumy?

Sounds good. If you can get enough people together to make it feasible I can come over from Ireland no problem. Manchester is like my second home at this stage.
It started with foro member johnnefastis inviting me over to do one a few years back and I have done many since, all great fun I must say!

Hi John,
I wished I could come this weekend but other commitments mean I can't.
There should be enough guitarists around in the south east to warrant a trip. I'm based London and there are a few of us here. More a case of catching the wave. I'm sure you may well know some from Spain. Enjoy the weekend in Manchester and poss try for a foray further south in the future. All the best.

If it's in London count me in, I'm in the sticks about 2-2&1/2 hours from Kings Cross.
