Ever since hearing Antón Jiménez on Gerardo Nuñez's New School of Flamenco Guitar recording, I just loved his sound. I'm currently trying to collect his entire discography, which seems to include the following 4 albums and 1 film:
ALBUMS:
"Meeting Once Again” "9 Reinas” "De Sevilla a Sicilia” "Gitanos del Foro”
FILM:
"Guitarra de Palo"
I see that the 4 albums can be purchased in MP3 format on cdbaby but I see no reference to actual CDs. For collectors and audiophiles this is an alarming trend, the move away from physical media towards lossy file formats like MP3s... Does anyone know if any of these albums were ever been released on physical CD? Are they just out of print and scarce now, or were they never available on CD to begin with?
As far as the film, I see no evidence that it was ever made available on DVD or Bluray. Does anyone know about this?

There's more (probably a lot more) if you look for albums that aren't under his name. For example, look up some of El Cigala's earlier albums and his name is bound to show up on some of the tracks. edit: from El Cigala's website: "En 1997 inicia su carrera en solitario con el disco Undebel, producido por David Amaya y con las guitarras de Antón Jiménez, David Amaya, Paquete y Tomatito" so he's got some tracks on that CD at least.

Ha! Yes, I read that thread, and it sounded like at least one of Antón Jiménez's albums was at one time available as a physical disc, since he mentioned they would ship it to him COD. You're right though, I should ask him if he ever received the CD, which one it was etc. Thanks for the suggestion!

The real question is how far are you willing to go to have his full discography. Because here's the thing: if you want it all, you're going to have to buy a Vanessa Mae CD

YUK.... ha! Well, the first 90 seconds are worth listening to. Then... nosedive... really bad stuff. But hey, I did actually buy the Hermanos D´ Maya - La Aurora de Michel CD just to have all of Jeronimo Maya's CDs, so..... I suppose I can't make fun..... Ha! Can't say that that disc does anything except sit on the shelf next to his "real" CDs... Anyway, your point is well taken Piwin ;-)

I picked up a compas cd on amazon last week for under £2 (nothin' grabs yer money like a bargain!) and it has Anton Jimenez on the first track.... but only for about 30 seconds.... under a minute anyway.... but there's a whole series of these discs covering range of palos, so if you're a real completist you're gonna have to buy the whole set!

And they're real CDs too, that's the part I like! That's really what I'm after, Antón Jiménez *CDs*, not MP3 albums (unless there was never any other format available).
