I saw a video of Paco performing with his crew in Germany. The cantaores (La Tana, Duquende and Montse Cortes) were taking turns por tangos, really slowly.
Then came La Tana's turn. She sung this first line:

I saw the video too. Watch some minutes before that look of paco. Paco wanted her to sing some lines, she allways shaked her head..she felt not good or so.. Than she sang after paco pleased her to sing with a couple of hints and moves. After that paco watched her with that look. He looked like... aaah you!! Im the boss here, If I want that you sing...just sing, we all know that you are good..so why hiding! It was in a Tangos right? I dont remember clearely. ut at the same concert I saw some crazy things more!! You see what a damn big boss Paco is. Look at Joseles face before paco look at him and than when Paco look in his face. Its a change of day and night. I will search it now and post some pics. hehe

lol Tenshu
I cant be sure but i think Paco would look at la Tana more like a daughter he produced her solo album. But i say this without having watched the video again, if it was happening i think Paco would be smarter then to do something like that when he knows its beeing filmed.
I kid around with our singer all the time but at the end of the day shes twice my age

EDIT: [Okokok Tana is Montse..Im false ]Here I made a little Paco-Tana comic about this dialog. I think you meant this situation tenshu right?? I hope you like my humor. I dont mean it bad. The whole crew with paco is great. The concert was soo amazing!! Its just one funny tiny scene. Tana really sang an old Camaron lyric and was a little next to the right tone at one point. That was funny. But shes usually great!

Total BS guys. My friend hung out with tana, and there is nothing like that. I have the vid too. Henrik, Iwill send you a copy soon amigo.
Look, Tana knew the stuff, and was taking the lead because the other 2 did not know the new stuff from cositas buenas. They were laughing all night with each other's goofs. She was looking to Paco for the cues. The shots shown above were directed towards MONTSE CORTES. She did not feel comfortable with the show, probably did not rehearse at all. Still she sang good when she did solos por tangos, but there was one moment where Paco was like "come on!", and she very subtly shook her head "no". The concert I saw in US only had Tana and her mom singing, and they were tighter and knew the program. Duke and Montse came on later, and were still learning the new estribillos. Paco messed up a lot more in this DVD than when I saw him 3 months earlier. Check out Zyrab where he starts it twice one fret too high and was like WTF is wrong with the tunning? LOL! Still I love watching this concert.
Ricardo EDIT, oops, just noticed the Montse Tana cartoon. Doitsujin, can you pull out the clip where Paco puts his tongue in his cheek, that is funny.

Ya, this is a great one! Paco puts his tongue in his cheek at the end of one of the tunes to mock El Pirana who is always licking the inside of his mouth oddly. It's hilarious. And the part when Paco ****s up the beginning to Zyryab is quite funny as well. There is also a great moment in Zyryab, a provocative moment in the main theme of Zyryab at the beginning when Paco stares right in to the main camera, intentionally or not I don't know, but it's remarkable because you can see the anguish in the man. He has a very penetrating gaze.
Funny about this affair question Tenshu... When I took my mother to the Toronto concert, which included Tana and Tana's mother the same as Ricardo's concert, my Mum made the same observation about Paco and Tana, and she kept insisting so when we argued about it... From her years of experience, she must know immediately when there is something between two people. I still believe it was just part of performing and interacting. Who knows.

Henrik... It's not official. Last year someone began selling them on Ebay, and many of us picked a copy. Maybe it's still on there, I don't know, but give me a private message and I'll try to help you out.

I don't even see why it's an affair if we can't be sure that Paco is married again... Same goes for Tana. Maybe I'm missing something. Oh well, enough gossip, eh?

I think part of Paco's appeal is his charisma. As is often stated on here, there are numerous amazing flamenco guitarists (although I do believe Paco's the best). But do any inspire of them inspire same amount of interest / general worship?!! The guy has charisma by the bucketload. If Paco gave me 'the look' I would sing my heart out (and I can't sing!)..

I think that the charisma you describe is more like what he has now cause of the aging. When he was young , he was pretty normal looking and I hear that sometime ago that confidence into his own ability he had to earn through hard work, not that the work makes his merits smaller . Read somewhere that he was a little scared about playing solo when young and he was far more comfortable playing with his sextet, maybe i read it wrong.Sure now ...he looks also like he is the boss, but to be frank i was more impressed by mclaughlin when i've seen them both.I dont think the charisma is why he is so interesting.Sure , that too.

Nah, I think he had "it" even in his younger days - I love those vids of him in the 60s and 70s. But I guess a lot of people become more comfortable in their skin as they age, and with Paco perhaps it shows more, now he's a bit more 'relaxed'.
I think people can be astoundingly talented but have no charisma, and so they are less interesting.
On another note, do you think Paco will make any more albums? With Cositas Buenas he seemed so pleased with having made a appropriate tribute to flamenco, one to silence his critics. Could that be the final chapter?
Anyway sorry for straying off topic - this thread is funny - I love the "comic strip"..
