Mexican or Spanish cypress?

Can any of the experienced lutheries here tell if this is Spanish or Mexican cypress.
Its a 2010 Castillo. I bought it used from someone who was selling it for a friend and I didn't find out the B/S.
I might be letting it go in the future and thought it might be a question that could come up.
Right now I would say I don't know for sure. It sounds great so personally I don't care but someone else might.

There's no way to tell where the cypress came from except by botanical analysis. If you need to sell it just call it cypress. The other option is to contact the maker and ask.

His website might help, you've either got the $3,000 or the $3,400 version.

There's no model number on your guitar? I'm sure with a small bit of info from the label he could tell you which one you have via email.

Your making way too much sense. I just looked up his mex email. The guitar is #325. I'll see if he knows.
Maybe solving the mystery.

Just got this back from Salvador,

Hola Mike..!!

Tu guitar es Cipres Espanol y tapa de Aeto Europeo..!!
Saludos Amigo!!..

So he keeps records then...There we are. That was fun!

I really didn't think I would get a reply from Mr. Castillo.

Thx John and Lenador
