(and come'n mate. That's bit harsh on Escribano and others who are doing their best for the forum. No most of us are not "living the flamenco life" as we see some do in the Youtube but we're not doing badly for what we can do within our abilities.)
There is a lot of flamenco here for a long time....so much dedicated people for years and years. Maybe you use the wong sense? Flamenco is more a matter of feeling than seeing.....try to feel a bit more, maybe you find some sparckles of flamenco..........
I had some flamenco once .. I left it on a bus ....been meaning to get another , but just never got around to it ....its kinda handy though ... where did you find yours?
Just the other day I saw some flamenco running down the street in front of my town house pursued by a bass guitar and a harmonica yelling that they wanted to create fusion. The flamenco was gradually losing distance, and I'm afraid the bass guitar and harmonica may have caught up with it after rounding the corner. I couldn't bear to see the result, so I went into my living room and put some Sabicas on the turntable.

Just posting this thread reveals how miserable and sad your life is, Morante.
I hope things get better for you.
That's a bit harsh but maybe meant to be equally provocative as the original post.
I have myself noticed Morante constantly dissing how non flamenco this or that is, or how little importance in flamenco is anything that doesn't have to do with cante. And writing in spanish etc. Maybe morante should teach us what real flamenco is then?
Also have you considered, Morante, that maybe in the eyes of some flamencos you are not flamenco?
Kind of stupid to post here almost daily and say there's no talk about flamenco here.
-Cante accompaniment thread. (Would be interesting to discuss each form separately and in detail. Maybe compile a catalog of widely used letras for each palo, and expand from then on. Discuss harmonic and rhythmic variations that are possible when accompanying. Would be interesting to have a cantaor who would be willing to get involved and maybe record some of the letras with no guitar for practice.) -Baile accompaniment thread. (Discuss the structures of different palos and the interaction between dancers, singers and guitarists. What to expect, what signals to look for, etc. Provide examples, discuss challenges. Would really be interesting for newbies like myself.) -Palmas. (How about sharing some of the traditional and modern patterns for all the palos, for one or more palmeros.) -Cajon. (Similar to palmas, some basic rhythms and variations.) -Rhythm thread. (I think I already started one some time ago, but it died off. What I would like to see is some of the cool new variations demonstrated and explained, as well as links to video or audio of what you find interesting or just enjoy a lot. How about also a collection of remates.) -Flamenco news. (Post anything and everything you find important.) -Young emerging artists. (Especially if you live in Spain, please post videos or simply provide names of people who we may want to know, who we need to watch out for :) Anyone you find good, special or simply like for whatever reason.) -Technical exercises for guitarists. (Helpful or simply cool exercises for all the different techniques. I can really be helpful there.) -List of regular flamenco events by area. (Regular gigs in whatever restaurant, dance classes, guitar classes, cante classes, cajon/palmas classes, juergas. Also give contact information of local flamenco societies.) -Flamenco humor. (Funny stories, anecdotes to release some occasional tension.)
Also, be more active posting info of upcoming concerts/workshops/juergas. There is nothing like finding out you missed something special.
Great post Grisha! There is a great cante thread from years ago, loads of cante without guitar on there. Would be a nice idea for a challenge or just learning maybe. I just made a threat where I´ll try and upload videos of juergas in and around Málaga.

Thank you! I know that there is already a lot of this stuff in the old threads of foro. I was hoping for something that would be more organized for easier searching. For example, a thread that deals with solea cante and a different thread that deals with bulerias cante. Maybe borrowing/reposting from earlier threads.
There are many hidden treasures and very usefull threads on this foro, I wouldn´t know where to start.. What if we could all look for usefull post and post them somewhere alltogether to later try and organize them in different seccions. For me the cante acompany thread is definately one of these gems. I also really like Grishas idea about different compas and feel like:Bulerías de Jeréz, Lebrija, Utrera etc.
The cante accomp thread, while very long, is organized enough in the sense that the first post has a detailed description of what is on each page. If you want Solea to focus on you can jump to the examples.
The true problem is simply low traffic right now. The threads that deal with advanced topics are rarely visited because folks that visit foro are not really deeply involved...lately.
If someone wants to organise such threads from existing posts, let me know and I will create a section for them.
I would love for topics here to be more organized, but lack the skills and time necessary to do it myself. But I think better classification/organization will lead to more activity and more focused in depth discussions. Foro is an incredible source of information, it is just difficult to find sometimes.
Is it possible to have cante accompanying section with sub threads that deal with specific palos? And same with Falseta swap shop? And baile if it is of interest? This way each thread is shorter and more specific.
