Sad times para mi

Hi Guys,
Sadly, my little girl's wee cat has just been run over and killed.
We all loved him. He was a character.
Tried to look at the forum etc but just can't get enthused if you know what I mean.
I guess I really shouldn't be posting this sort of stuff here, but I was sitting at the keyboard so just did so on impulse.
Guess it's siguiriyas time and reflection on mortality in general.
Funny, but I find the appropriate flamenco a great comfort in these sad times.

Hasta

Ron

A su amigo, mi amigo.

We have become a family of sorts, so it is entirely appropriate.

I guess it's the blues, so it works. I spent an hour on Sunday at my friend's grave, playing my crappy Solea, but I kept my promise and it helped.

Wish I had ill-spent my youth with a different sort of guitar, in Malaga rather than London, then at least I could play as you might do later.

Hasta

Ron:

My condolences. A family member is a family member, regardless... as life is life. It's a difficult day for all at your house, I imagine.

Warm Regards,
Paul

Sorry to hear that, RonM! I love animals, all animals, and when I had to put my St. Bernard to sleep, it literally depressed our whole family for at least 3 or 4 weeks!

However, try and cheer up some, because as you know, it could have been a lot worse!!

Merle

Hi Ron,
I feel sorry for you, and your little girl.

Our cat (his name was Ballantine can you figure that???)

Died a copple of years ago, I had to bring him with my son to the animaldoctor, and let it sleep ( forever) On the way back , me and my son cried our eyes out, he was 10 by then, and becouse I did not know what to do, ( little panic) I drove to a church, and we burned a candle. Well, i am not the finest example of a christen, but it really helped us.

I took an old picture of the cat, and framed it, and it is still on his room.

It is now about 3 years ago, but it was one of the intensed moments as a father.

Say (if you want) your girl hi for me, and hopefully the two cats can play in the catheaven together.

So, and now I need a Ballantine myself!

Peter.

Thanks guys,
I know really shouldn't have posted that depressing stuff. Sorry.
I was initially writing something about Diego del Morao but couldn't put my heart into it and eventually spilled the beans.
We're over the initial shock, but needless to say the atmosphere around the house will be pretty gloomy for the next few days.
That's life I suppose. What can you do?

cheers

Ron

Sorry to hear about the cat Ron. I'm an ex-vet technician and have a deep love for animals. Your family will just need some time to heal. Tell your little girl to hang in there.

Ron;

Sorry to hear about your family cat. Pets are like family members. We had a miniature Poodle, who loved everyone and had one heck of a personality! He went camping and almost everywhere we went. When he was 14 he had a massive stroke and our son, daughter and I had to bring him to the vet to be put to sleep. That was December 1986 and we still miss Sammy.

A few weeks after we lost Sammy, I bought a piano for the family and taught the kids how to play. It really helped get our minds off of our loss. Since then everyone keeps telling me we should get another Poodle. However, I do not want to go through such a loss again. It hurts!

Perhaps another pet would be the best thing to consider. Most are smaller than a piano!

Just a short note to say thanks so much everybody for your commiserations and sympathy in what to a lot of people would be a piece of nonsense not worth bothering about.
Maybe it's the musician in us, but everybody is a caring and sensitive person here.
I know from your stories, that each one of you has been through difficult times yourselves.
To me it may not be macho, but it is the true calibre of the person and the mark of a human being, to be able to suffer the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" and the pain of suffering and loss without ever becoming embittered, jaded or dismissive.
And I know I describe you guys.
Thanks ever so much!

Ron

British joke, sorry America (OK, Australia can join in!).

Best joke in the World just to make Ron laugh (OK, just this once....)
