A+b9 really should be A7b9...dominant chord .. resolving to D Maj
Ab9..is Ab(root)..Db..Eb..Gb..Bb..dominant resolving to Dbmaj
Aadd b9 is the tonic chord resolving to itself .. A Maj (like sus chords do) completly different chords ,, functions . tonality ...the lot .
'''...and since this is flamenco, there's no Ab'''.....
Rui , that is the possibly weirdest sentence I have ever seen on this site ..
Ricardo , I'm gonna get a bunch of your transcriptions and take all the Ab's out ...make it more flamenco ... (I wonder if there are any other notes we shouldnt have..)
Solear with capo on 4 it gonna be sooo difficult from now on ...
Ab9..is Ab(root)..Db..Eb..Gb..Bb..dominant resolving to Dbmaj
God help me ....I know you mean well.. Firstly I wrote that in my first post AND quoted myself repeatedly in anger this same fact...though you have it wrong anyway because, secondly, it's C NOT Db!
And to the rumba guy playing in Ab, no you are NOT playing in Ab phyrigian, it's G#phrygian. ASk Bach if you do'nt believe me.
