If you're not using Ad Block in google chrome, check it out. Its been around for quite some time, but i figure i'd mention anyway cause its exceptionally awesome and i didnt know it existed till recently. It has made the internet so much more tolerable for me. No more ads, period. Not even the commercials in the begining of youtube videos. You can set it to allow what ever you want. I have it set block everything. It is amazing..
I feel like it's really sad that we have to use it.......
Devil's advocate here: Do you expect the internet to be free? Are you helping to pay the bills for this foro? How do you expect Simon to finance this site if not from ads? He's actually losing money when you use up bandwidth without viewing the ads.. I'm assuming you work your day job pro bono to help humanity...
Anyway, if you're using chrome - check out ghostery. It blocks all those analytic type scripts (from facebook, google, etc) from tracking you.
Banners are fine, I have absolutely no issues. AdBlock blocks all the pop-ups and trash that's not a part of the original website designers intent. They're in YOUR computer. And yes, I've done plenty of work for free, ask the women's shelter in East LA and Friends of the Family center for at risk youth......

With all due respect to your magnanimous philanthropism - the internet is not a disenfranchised youth center and you donating to charity doesn't mean you work for free.

Ummm I don't think you understand how ads or adblock work.
I'm broke, I don't donate, I put my sweat into those places. I WORKED for FREE and will continue to as needed......
And I don't think YOU know how AdBlock works...... I first downloaded it when I saw ads on MY website that I know I didn't put in. After installation, no more ads.....

Dude... You DONATED some HOURS and maybe some MATERIALS. You don't WORK for FREE.

I didn't realize you build websites (incidentally - I do). If what you're saying is true I'm guessing you used a service and THEY put in the ads. Anyway adblock doesn't remove ads from your site, it blocks ads (like the banners from foroflamenco.com) from other sites on your browser. Like the difference between painting the walls pink and wearing glasses with pink lenses.
Dude, donating hours on a semi regular basis IS working for free, period.
My friend built my site, not a service. If Adblock does block things like the foro banner, which it doesn't appear to on my laptop(maybe the settings I have it on) than that's not what I'm referring to as sad. It's sad that I have to use it to view my own effing website without ads....
Todd, the ads pay for the hosting of this site. Google ads are disabled at the moment because they have changed their policy under pressure, so now I have to spend a couple of days programming to get them back, only for you to neglect to kindly explain that you can disable ad blocker for chosen sites - like this one.
No ad revenue, on top of your selfish assumption that I am just fine with that, means I shut it down.
