La Guitarra Flamenca shop in Cunit

I spent a day at Marcos' shop. Very friendly and generous guy, takes very good care of you during your visit. I only tried half of his guitars and a few collector ones and some I can't afford. There were 5 or 6 that suited me very well, meaning that they were easy to play. Choosing one came down to which 'voice' I was looking for. It was fantastic to try so many different guitars at the same time. Great experience.

In the end iI was stuck between a Jeronimo Perez and a Pedro de Miguel, both blancas. I went there with the intension of buying a negra and realized they were too close to my current guitar. I have to go back at the end of the month to try a bunch of blancas and pick one.

Did you try the Jeronimo Perez Spruce/Amazon RW negra? What was it like?

Actually that was one of the 2 guitars, I said two blancas but this was a negra. I liked it a lot. It belonged to a guitarist that apparently liked playing very gently, the strings were quite low. I play with much strength and there was much buzz; so I took it down a notch and what surprised me of it was how loud it was played gently. It made me realize I probably play too hard, gotta work on that. When i go back i will look at the guitar more closely.

Thanks for the reply Rogelio,

It's good info. I have a guitar coming from JP later this year and it's likely to be spruce/ARW and it's good to hear the one you played was a good guitar.

Good luck with the search, hope you find the guitar you are after!
