Just because you say you've payed attention, that doesn't mean you did.. and if you did, maybe you didn't understand.
What "it looks like.." to you is not "what it is", specially when you don't know what was discussed through PM on the subject.
You seem to have a problem with things that don't concern you. You could have made your contribution to the topic without attacking anyone, even if they somewhat "deserved".
This "jump in to attack someone" attitude is getting pretty lame around here. The attempts to cover it up by adding a sentence or two about the topic at hand just makes it all more ridiculous.

For the record, I DO like these kinds of threads where people geek out about music. But it IS hard to read through what seems like genuine efforts to share knowledge from GB and then you keep commenting "no, you're not really that smart. i do it this way [stuff that is implied by GBs explanations].

You know Mitch I actually recorded the first few and I am ashamed to report two things.
One I can't sing the tune in F without falsetto which sounds appalling. Two I sound just as bad in every other key and in my natural voice. Even by my normal low upload strandards it would be a unkind to expect anyone to listen to my singing. I wish I was joking. I did enjoy the effort thoroughly though thanks.

I thought the whole point of a Dylan track was you could croan through it completely drunk by a camp fire accompanied by someone who doesn't know how to play the bongos.
The point was to show that those bits of theory were implied and already put to use by many.
It wouldn't make sense if I were to say the same things with different words behind a "here's how I do it".
So you think that's you point.
The point of this thread was to show you some examples of how I do it. And to invite you to show how you do it. Which you did not do. And in particular to show you that sometimes ii substitutes for IV and sometimes for V. To notice you need to generate examples and relate them to a tune which I did.
I pointed out that common usage patterns emerge from simple harmony. Common usage being jazz tunes. I did not claim responsibility for common usage.
I did mention to you that there had been a time where I wasn't practicing reharmonisation and simplification and that I didn't get much results even though I thought I had understood books.
Please take the time to include a new reharmonistation in your next post.

If you want to attack the idea that I am trying to take responsibility for all of western harmony then honestly, although it may sometimes seem so,I am not that silly.
My point is my point, the point of the thread is what it is.
I asked you many times about what were you talking about and what was that super discovery you had made and you never mentioned reharmonization, that would have cleared up things. Telling people "play these chords" over and over means nothing if they don't know what to look for.
Maybe you should approach things differently when you get into this subject. Iam not going to expose the contents of those messages you sent me but if you remember your "claims", then you'll know what I mean.
Every time I gleefully type my way back into this -otherwise- wonderful forum, I am immediately reminded of the hostility and antagonism that can so easily erupt here, undermining the reason, and the sole reason I visit for: Fun!
I recently attended a campfire session with a couple guitarists and some UFO enthusiasts. The two guitarists took turns playing tunes by Neil Young, Cat Stevens, and The Band. Not being a big fan of that genre, I didn't know many of the songs that well. Both of them seemed to have spent untold hours imitating every nuance of the singers' performances and vocal tone and mannerisms. It was like a high end cover band level of detail. When I commented rather innocently how much the one singer sounded like Neil Young, his response was a bit snarky: Well, we do try to sound like the original artist when we sing covers. Myself, I find things rather fresher when sung with a different approach, for example a teenage girl I know who likes to sing "Blister in the Sun" and Johnny Cash.

It is really sad when you look back through old posts and find people who gave enormously to the foro with passionate enthusiasm and now aren't here for what ever reason.
after all we love guitar so here we are -- yes its a flamenco foro and a brilliant one but secretly we should be allowed to share guitar y stuff regardless of what style
