Hi from Lands End UK

Hi from Cornwall, UK. We have 5 meter waves, 80kph winds, but very few flamenco performers! I played guitar since i was a teenager (a long time ago!), flamenco guitar a few years, been to Spain a few times. Anybody in my area like to jam, or into cante or baile? (i've played for dancers a few times). I could really do with some outlets to keep my motivation going.

Hi Nick

You have Claudia;
http://www.flamenco-cornwall.com/

I worked with her a little. She's always looking for local guitarists.

There's others down there too, used to be a good dancer called Demelza that was based in Totnes who moved back to Cornwall.

Myself and duo partner are currently arranging a gig at the Sterts (mix of flamenco, rumba, some Spanish/Latin stuff etc)

Hi Blondie. Thanks for your reply.
Yes i know Claudia and play for her sometimes. She's trying to establish a dance class in Penzance at the end of February if you know anyone that might be interested. I also played for Demelza briefly.
I also play in an occasional Latin trio (with cajon and tres/quatro), though they have no knowledge of flamenco.
There's something special about playing for a class though: Lots of slow repetition = good practice (and a captive audience!?).
Do you play for a class in Plymouth?

Hi guys, I'm from Totnes originally and still get back there every now and then. Hopefully I'll get back there again in July, in which case I'll drop you a line.
Good luck in your quest.

Buenas dias
David

@ Dudnote

I used to busk in Totnes regularly Still get there maybe once or twice a year.

@ Nick

I used to play for Mercedes Romero's class years back before she moved to Spain (she's back, in North Devon now) and also for Lisa, one of her students that started a class afterwards.

Kind of had enough of all that though, beginners stuff only, endlessly chugging out tangos compas, I wasn't really learning anything. I don't believe there are any classes in Plymouth at the moment, and Claudia seems to be at the centre of activity in the South West at the moment.
