My pet peeve: Classical / Flamenco ...

I get on craigslist or ebay every now and then, and occasionally search for 'flamenco' out of idle curiosity, even though I would never consider buying a flamenco guitar there.

I find it a bit silly when a seller advertises for sale a 'Classical / Flamenco Guitar' then say something like'... Serious players know the difference between an average $60 guitar and this beauty...'

Come on, a serious player would know the difference between a classical guitar and a flamenco guitar, would he (or she) not? Almost every flamenco instruction book I have looked at has a chapter explaining this.

Admittedly you can play flamenco music on a classical guitar and vice versa, but it's either made as a classical guitar or flamenco guitar. I don't like calling people idiots, but I find it idiotic to advertise a classical/flamenco guitar.

PS. It's a light day at work with no issues to tackle, hence the idling net-surfing to kill time.

What's so surprising about that?

There are sales people for every kind of product who market/advertise their products in a similar manner.. it has nothing to do with classical vs flamenco knowledge, if it's being sold all the text is part of the business.
