Search for new Guitar

Hello,

I have been playing guitar for 7 years now and always admired flamenco Music in particular.
Since I have a big crack in my old guitar, which I never liked anyway, I am looking forward to buy myself a new one.

First of all I need to say that I do have very small knowledge on Luthiers and brands. I do know the most important ones, but have played only a few of them.
And since the Forum has countless experts, i hope get an advice by you.

My budget is around 2000 euro (appx 2500 Dollar). I think I would rather go for a blanca then a negra.
I would really like to buy a guitar with bity and aggressiv tone that is very loud.

I would be very gladful if you could give me any suggestions. Thank you

Hello kazuya,

at this price I would go for the Camps Primera. It´s price is at 1.550 €. I was given the prototype on the Frankfurt Musikmesse in 2005 "behind the curtain" by Jordi Camps. In 2006 I wrote a review for the German magazine Akustik Gitarre. The Primera has developed and became better over the years.

Where do you live?

Good Morning everybody. Why not to skip from a good professional guitar to a 100% hand-made one; it is really worthy and the price increases slightly. I myself have very affordable artisan, fine guitars:

If you're willing to go up in price a little, this is a great hand-made blanca which I played five weeks ago. Highly recommended.

From outside of the European Community you can calculate nearly 30 % more because of customs and import tax. That´s why I don´t buy expensive goods from outside of the EC.

There's a Navarro concert Blanca in the classifieds section right now for 1300 euros. That's worth at least looking into.

As Bernd said, it is hard to buy something outside of the EU, because the taxes can go up to 30%,.

Well i went to a guitar shop here today and tried a few Alhambras, which I did not like at all.

Antonio Raya Ferrer in granada had one blanca for 2500 in his shop in granada, maybe it's still there. It was a great guitar, maybe he can make another for around that price if it was sold.

John Shelton, who posts on this forum, makes a great guitar for about that much. I have one. Don't know about the tax situation--he is in the US.
