I agree with Ron and Tom-younger guys have no idea how lucky they are to have the tools that are available today. Compas programs, dvd's of the greats playing their music slow, books and books of transcribed solos, methods, it's just unreal. As recently as the early eighties, you could count the commercially available transcription books on your hands. A German guy came out with the first PdL tunes in tab, and they were about $20.00 for one song, which actually was a bargain then, because, to learn Paco's zap, for example, could have taken you a half dozen lessons or more at 30.00 a piece, assuming you could find a guy who knew it, which you probably couldn't. The Gerardo or Tomatito dvd is worth at least a thousand dollars in 1980's money. The free program, amazing slow downer-what would people have paid for that in the 80's? At least 500.00 OTHO, people play with better technique today, probably in part because of these tools, so the standard continues to rise.

I cant understand why they took M.d.cor. for these videos. There are tons of players who would have been able to play exact the same acompan. but with more aire. It would have been much more fun to watch better players. Merengue knows all the theory but he´s so damn bad.... I cant watch more the 2 minutes of his video than I have to stop it, coz this bad technic and debilitated wrist and fingers hurt in my eyes. The Merengue videos are good to watch basic acompan.-chords but dont try to learn his technic... Ok I was drunken in past, so I was able to watch the whole video without vomitting. The most funny scene was when he said very cool with a happy face "now lets try to acompan. this alegrias with modern chords". Horrible horrible... stonagetechnic with some pre-modren pseudochords.. ... Yes the merengue videos are very overpriced for what he does. Sorry for this hard statement.. Im in a very bad mood today coz of a stupid girl of yesterday!! Grrrr!!
