I do not have one, but I hear is a heck of a buy. The guitar has been discuss here many times, so do a search and read on. As per R. Hudson most would agree he is straight up guy.

I have one. A negra. Solid spruce top and cocobolo back and side. French polish all the way around. Well built guitar. Fantastic solo instrument, but it lacks that stinging bite for accompaniment of song and or dance for my taste. I can drive it hard and does not collapse. Very sweet sounding guitar. Generally easy guitar to play, except for the humidity drops below 40%, where it gets stiff and hard to play. 55%-60% and it is happy chap.

What was the blanca like? How do you like the palo escrito? I find it to be a bit thin. The cocobolo guitar that I have has a very sweet sound, a bit on the classical side. The decay isn't as fast, and I would prefer less overtones. But like I said, a great solo guitar and in the hands of Ricardo or a Grisha it would sing like a mother. In my scrubby hands, it's a damn fight...

Depends on what you like. If you want a "true" solo guitar, yes. If you want a more traditional flamenco, something that has that bite to it, more of a mid range/less bass guitar, not really. It could do well in accompaniment of cante or baile, but I rather have a Castillo blanca, a Conde, etc... as these would fit the 'true' flamenco guitar sound....

I ordered one in cypress/spruce back in December 2012. It arrived in April 2013. I liked it so much that I ordered a second one--but this time in cocobolo/spruce--after receiving the first. The second one arrived in July 2013. Both transactions were done through Ron Hudson. I can highly recommend him. I can't say enough positive things about Francisco Navarro's "Reyes Special Grand Concert". As is always the case, each guitar has its own unique voice and feel. Both are very good, both from a playability perspective as well as a sound perspective. Sound-wise, they are very clear, balanced, and loud. Nice resonance and growl. All frequencies are strong (mid-range, treble, and bass). Very nice projection. Aesthetically, they are beautiful instruments. The workmanship is impeccable. In my particular case, I ordered them in French polish, with extra jumbo frets (Dunlop 6000), and left-handed. For me, both guitars work very well. Whether one would suit you, only you can tell. Feel free to ask me any other questions, and good luck in whatever you end up deciding to do. Brandon.

I'd heard a lot of good things about these and bought one unseen via the internet a year or so ago. Excellent construction but pretty disappointed with the sound. It compared poorly compared to my Green and Canin (which admittedly were twice the price). Maybe I got a dud but I'd definitely try before buying.

Just saw a Francisco Navarron reyes grand concert model 2011 go for 1825.00 on ebay. Also a Salvador Castillo blanc with planetary pegs got no bids at 2100.00
