Greetings from North West England

Hello everybody. I'm from a small town in North West England where nothing much happens, and in all the years I've lived here I've never heard any of any interest in flamenco. It was when I got unlimited broadband quite recently and had access to Youtube that my interest really took off. I've started learning with Juan Martin's El Arte Flamenco de la Guitarra, and finding it a really enjoyable and helpful method. The Seguiriyas at the beginning is turning out to be a difficult one, and I'm working on keeping it going when I make a mistake, instead of slowing down at the difficult bits.

Looking forward to getting involved

Welcome to the forum.
You don't mention which NW town you live in but there is some flamenco activity around, for example: http://www.flamencomanchester.com/

Hi, welcome,

As Graham mentioned there are quite a few guitarists and dancers around the North West. I could squeeze you into the
John Walsh workshop if you want. You would learn heaps more than from books.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome, and the for the information.

Can't really commit myself to anything at the moment, but hope things are going to change in the near future. It would be a morale booster to meet others with the same interest, and an antidote to all the solitary hours of practising
